We're are ver excited to invite you to our unique textile exhibition at the Ancient Market House in Kingston!

This year-long project was based on the ancient craft and tradition of textile recycling from Bangladesh and India. The technique used was a simple running stitch; the base textiles were lightweight scarves and items that participants found in their wardrobes. We hosted introductory workshops to teach the method and allow for exploration of textiles by producing small samples first. Participants from various communities living in and around the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames interpreted this technique in a new, contemporary way by sharing their skills, knowledge, and memories.
